How to add Value to Bloggers!

Written by Lisa on December 12, 2009 – 10:59 am -

Do you have colleagues that enjoy writing?

(Ones like myself that share experiences and knowledge)
If you want to show them that their content is of value when they blog and if it gives you value there are ways to show this.

Ideas to give value back:

  • Comment on their blog.
  • Add their RSS feed to your Reader, (does not matter which one).
  • Put their link up in your Twitter feed.
  • If shown on twitter, RT the comment and give that link a boost.
  • Bookmark the article
  • Put the link of content in your blog if you have one.
  • Add the link on Facebook.
  • If the blog is on Networked blogs, add a comment to show support.

If someone is offering value with their blogs, you need to show them.

Why?

The New searching format being adopted by many search engines (google comes to mind) is real time people and searches are what is important.  The media strength comes in people, what they say and do.

So if you have colleagues you respect, do not just read it and enjoy it.  At least comment, if they are doing good work the only valid way to respond in this media is commenting at a minimum.

TheBest MethodsTo Get Visitors To Your Website

Written by kiwigal on December 28, 2008 – 9:14 am -

There are more ways to get traffic to your site than you can possibly imagine.br /
br /
Getting a href=http://www.cashway.com target=_blankvisitors/a to your site is the single most important aspect of any online business.Youve probably heard it a million times, but without traffic you might as well be fishing for whales in a shallow creek. Site owners should try to get traffic from both online and offline sources and by conventional as well as creative methods.br /
br /
Excluding the offline methods, here are the Top 4 online ways we know of to get more traffic to your website.br /
br /
1. Search Enginesbr /
br /
Perhaps the best and most well known of the traffic generating methods – If not the hardest. Every website owner who has pages related to your market is competing for targeted traffic. Its going to take more patience and effort on webmasters parts to get your pages listed in the major search engines as well as keep them at the top. This will be especially true with Google now filing for a patent on the criteria they will be using to rank pages.br /
br /
To play the SE traffic game you need to optimize your webpages, provide relevant content and have good back links to sites that compliment yours.br /
br /
If you have an existing site you should spend some time reviewing and optimizing those individual pages for the keywords and content that you have selected for it. Thats the one basic task you can do to help improve your site in the eyes of the search engines. This includes making sure the keywords are placed throughout your meta tags, title, description, headlines, body and even in the alt tags of your graphics on your page.br /
br /
You can get a more detailed plan for optimizing your pages by reading the Search Engine Optimization article located at:br /

br /
If you want to create a keyword list that you can optimize your site with you might want to visit br /

br /
2. Backlinksbr /
br /
I think the second most viable way to get traffic to your site I believe is through creating backlinks from other sites. It takes a little time but you can really develop some long term traffic sources for you site.br /
br /
If you want to You can check the number of links to your site from within the major search engines you can download this handy little piece of Free software that runs from your desktop that will give you a count on the number of links you have. You can get it here:br /
br /

br /
3. Writing and Distributing Articlesbr /
br /
Having your own website chances are that youve gained some specific expertise in the area associated with your site. You can turn that knowledge into a traffic generating machine by writing short, helpful articles that help solve problems and point people in the direction of your site.br /
br /
You can write and submit them to other newsletter publishers and website owners. Heres a short list of where to distribute them:br /
br /
- Include in your sites Article Sectionbr /
- Article Directoriesbr /
- Ezine Publishersbr /
- Publish in your ezinebr /
- Publish in your blogbr /
- Announcement listsbr /
- Forumsbr /
br /
4. Site Contentbr /
br /
This goes hand in hand with writing and publishing articles. You can research using the various search engines to find articles, newsfeeds and other relevant content to place throughout your site.br /
br /
Just remember that whatever outside content you decide to include on your site should be with the copyrighted owners permission. You should also take the time to optimize those content pages for the search engines.br /
br /
These pages should also have links either in a sidebar, header, footer, etc that act as doorways that visitors can enter other parts of your site. The more optimized content pages you have and that get spidered by the SEs, the more likely youll bring traffic to your site.br /
br /
Thats a brief look at the best to bring traffic to your website. At this point in time it also looks like they are going to be the best and most accepted ways to get the traffic you want without being penalized by Google for not following their soon to be patented guidelines.br /

Top 6 Pinging Services Around(+57 more)

Written by Lisa on December 8, 2008 – 12:33 pm -

View my FriendFeed

One of the Joys of Marketing is knowing how you Can make your Content Go one step further but also getting more exposure.  Pinging is one tool that does this one task.

For Instance, many marketers are bloggers (the wise ones) and we use a weblog to get some crucial bits of info out. To spread it more we use pinging.  Its only natural we wish to be recognised for giving out the content and our brains given some kudos for our treachery on some topics and getting to the heart of what Marketing is doing and the answers that do work instead of a lamo’s (which I call those half-hearted and going through others work).  So we use Pinging to get our word out on this topic, trying our best to use great anchor text where ever we can.

Ok Just quickly “Why do we Ping?”.

Simple, its lets the engines know we have fresh content. Only fresh content is looked over, so you are doing your article, blog, services or pictures a great service and faster reaction times.  Yes there is fancy jargon but I have proven many times its worth doing, thats all I need.

The Pingers are part of the Exclusive Service that is Free, but well & truly a worthy url to keep on yoru bookmarks, I have even gone to the extent of Creating a toolbar just so others know this.

Why blog?

Written by Lisa on November 20, 2008 – 1:32 pm -

As you notice, I enjoy my blog.  Its nicely set up on a Domain, its indexed by search engines and its quite a neat little place for everything about Lisa Lomas and what I know.

Now I have come across many who tend not to blog, I can only think, blogging is hard for them for some reason or sheer laziness.

Another Lady spoke to me and said “Just what is a blog”. My Definition is a Fancy Journal online on one specific topic preferably.  It can hold all your links of value, photos, articles and be a great place for storage.

One other part I have not mentioned till now is if your starting out with no budget for a business start-up Making any sort of site, a blog will give you this option.  You can go to Blogger which is a google product or Wordpressfree blog they will give you a .  If you like the way I do it, well you buy a domain name, you get some hosting that has fantastico (easy to install then) and off you go.  I am not going to get into Cpanel but what you need to take from this article is blogging can be a resource for absolutely anything, search any topic online and you will take notice if you search like so.

Blog: (your topic)

This search in an engine will bring up all blogs in that Niche.  Niche is a fancy way to say one area you write about, for instance it could be business, accounting, club programs, mail lists, advertising, comics, really there is no limit.

I subscribe to blogs, the collection is awesome.  Everyone has the option to build there own site add some little ads that gain a revenue subtly most of the time and write about what they want to write on.

In a technical sense, the Business fields are attracted to the blog as a means of media, also creating a very search engine friendly page.  You can add video, graphics, absolutely most things.

The only limit is your imagination.

Now some would say finding content is the battle they cannot deal with, well where are you right now, your on a computer somewhere in the world, what does it have?  Google, yahoo, msn.  These are tools for writing, you cannot copy others work but you can gain ideas, remember our search on google how we searched just blogs, you can do this with anything, forums, sites, membership sites, whichever takes your fancy and brings up relevant information.

The only reason I can see now for not blogging, is your making way to much money already, you cannot do it and don’t want to, you hate writing, other than that I say get off your butts and get a blog, it will help your business, hobby or club and once you get used to it, could be a heck of a lot of fun.
